| Deck Collars - Mast Collars | ||
|
Deck Collars, or Mast Collars, or Mast Partners, are used on Rigs with keel-stepped Masts to
provide a suitable interface where the Mast goes through the Deck. Deck Collars are usually bolted
through the Deck, and are normally specific to the Mast Section they are designed for.
Deck Collars will allow space for the use of some Mast Wedges
to prevent contact between the Mast and its' Deck Collar.
Some Deck Collars incorporate a means of attaching Turning Blocks for Halyards and other
Control lines. Some Deck Collars incorporate a means of attaching various Tie Rods or Deck
Tie-down Turnbuckles, attaching to the Mast or Mast Step, to prevent Deck rise due to Rig
Tension. Mast Wedges provide the cushion between the Mast and its' Deck Collar. Mast Boots help prevent water leakage where the Mast goes through the Deck. They fit around the Mast and cover the Deck Collar flange and Mast Wedges. Mast Boot Tape is used in applications where no suitable Mast Boot is available. Mast Boot Clamps are used to secure the Mast Boot to the Mast, and to the Deck Collar.
