NG2  Isovang

NG2 Isovangs have an 8 1/4" stroke length, end fittings are designed to fit over 1/4" (6mm) wide attachment tabs. Vang should be installed at its shortest (uncompressed) length with the boom in its lowest normal sailing position.

* Selecting Isovang Length
Measure your BH, that is, the distance from the Bottom of the Boom to the Bottom of the Vang Bracket. If there is not a Vang Bracket already mounted, measure the distance from the Bottom of the Boom to the lowest place on the Mast where the Bottom of the Vang Bracket could be mounted. Generally, the best advantage comes from mounting the Mast Bracket as low as possible on the Mast, but make sure that the Vang will not interfere with any Deck Hardware. Make sure also (based on Vang length) that the Boom Bracket location is clear. It is sometimes necessary to adjust Vang length or Mast Bracket height to avoid interfering with Boom-mounted hardware, and sometimes necessary to relocate some Boom-mounted items. See Isomat Boom Sections for the appropriate Vang Attachments for your Boom. It is best to mount the Mast Bracket first, and then fine-tune the location for the Boom Bracket with the Vang in place.
The Vang should be at an angle of 45° to 30° to the Boom. The BH values for the Vangs listed here will result in a 45° angle to the Boom, reducing that distance will decrease the angle to the Boom.
 

Components in all lengths of the NG2 Isovang are identical, with the exception of the tubes and liner.
