Rod Rigging

Originally developed by Navtec using a cold-drawn process, the high-strength, low-stretch, corrosion-resistant Nitronic 50 rod is the industry standard. It is available in coil form in rod sizes up to -76 and in bar form for -76 and above. Bends are used on continuous Rigging to hold the Spreader Tip in place and to provide better strain relief thus increasing fatigue life of the Rod. Rod is specified in Dash sizing, denoting the approximate breaking strength in thousands of pounds.

Rod Rigging
Industry standard Rod Rigging is cold-drawn to size from Nitronic 50 (22-13-5) stainless alloy. The cold drawing process produces rod with approximately 200,000-psi ultimate tensile strength, and high corrosion resistance. Larger sizes available, up to -640.

Navtec Headed Tie Rods
Navtec Nitronic 50 Headed Tie Rods for use with their U-Bolt Chainplates. Headed Tie Rods have RH UNF threads for use with Tie-rod nuts or Navtec D 530-xx Turnbuckle Ends. Long threads are suitable for all Navtec RH Turnbuckle Ends, and feature a pressed flat to hold the Rod when adjusting the Turnbuckle End. Common sizes are listed by thread diameter, lengths given are LOA. Other sizes and lengths are available on special order, specify thread size and length overall.
As used on a variety of boats including Bristol, Cal, Caliber, C&C, Ericson, O'Day, Santa Cruz, Southern Cross, the Hobie 33, and others.
