| Exit Plates and Chafe Bars | |
| Exit Plates are used to lead any
control line (internal halyards, pole lifts, etc.) through a spar wall, where No
directional change is required. An Exit Plate is installed in a slot, to prevent
the line going through it from coming in contact with the spar wall. This prevents any
abrasion of the spar wall, as well as minimizing chafe on the line. Suitable for use with
wire or rope, most of the Exit Plates listed below feature welded or formed bars to
prevent chafe on the interior mast wall, and smooth formed outer surfaces to reduce wear
on all control lines. Chafe Bars come in sets of 2 separate pieces and
prevent chafe at the slot ends only, one piece is mounted outside the Spar at one end of
the slot, the other piece is mounted inside the Spar at the other end of the slot. Other

Stainless Steel Exit Plate: K-10960SC: (curved) Stainless Steel Exit Plate: K-10960SF: (flat) Small SS Exit Plate is 3 1/4" long x 1 1/4" wide and will handle line up to 7/16" diameter. Assembly fits in mast cutout 2 3/8" high x 7/8" wide and fastens with (4) #10 (3/16") fasteners on 2 3/4" (vertical) x 3/4" (horizontal) hole centers. The K-10960SC is slightly curved to fit most Mast Sections, the K-10960SF is uncurved for use on flat-sided Sections.

Special Long Stainless Steel Exit Plate: PP-34-46K: Special Long SS Exit Plate is 6" long x 2 1/2" wide and will handle line up to 1/2" diameter. Flat SS plate has welded interior chafe bar and a slot that is 5/8" wide x 3 1/2" long. Unit is specially designed to cover large slots left from old-style exit blocks with sheaves. Fastens with (4) #10 (3/16") fasteners on 5 1/4" (vertical) x 1 3/4" (horizontal) hole centers. As used on a variety of C&C Yachts.

Special Short Stainless Steel Exit Plate: PP-34-47: Special Short SS Exit Plate is 2 3/4" long x 1 3/8" wide and will handle line up to 3/4" diameter. Formed SS plate without interior chafe bar fits in mast cutout 2" high x 1" wide and fastens with (4) #10 (3/16") fasteners on 2 5/16" (vertical) x 15/16" (horizontal) hole centers. As used on a variety of Pearson and Isomat Masts.

Stainless Steel Chafe Bar Set: K-1096CB-A: Two-piece SS Chafe Bar Set is suitable for use with slots of any length. Cast half-round Chafe Bars are 2 1/4" long x 3/4" wide and (except for flat-sided Spar Sections) will need to be bent to fit the curve of the Mast. The Inside Bar has (2) 3/16" holes for attachment (from the outside) with standard 3/16" rivets, the Outside Bar has (2) 3/16" holes countersunk for attachment with Flathead screws or rivets. |
