Non-metallic Spar Cleats
We are traditionalists, and prefer the stronger metal (alloy) Cleats for most all applications.
However, some applications, including some Carbon Spars, are often better served by non-metallic Cleats.
The Cleats listed below are made of Marelon®, a sturdy fiberglass
reinforced nylon, with high impact resistance, slight flexibility, and low cost. |

Aluminum Downhaul Cleat mounts in luff groove of Mast Sections with 1/2" Boltrope
Groove. Unit consists of K-1617 (or K-1617S)
3 1/4" Cleat mounted on a 6" length of 1/2" OD anodized Aluminum tube. Tube
slides into luff groove, screws are tightened to lock Cleat in desired position. Extra
long tube with off-center cleat prevents Gooseneck Slide from hitting Cleat. |
