Masthead Spinnaker Bails
Masthead Spinnaker Bails are used to attach a Swivel Block for a Spinnaker Halyard at the top of the Mast, and forward of the Headstay. This arrangement allows the Spinnaker to be tacked forward of the Headstay, as all true Spinnakers must. Most Standard Spinnaker Bails can be attached to the Masthead with screws and locknuts, some Masthead configurations have insufficient clearance for nuts on the underside and mounting will require threaded holes for machine screws. Before ordering a Spinnaker Bail, check your Masthead to be sure the size of the Spinnaker Bail is appropriate, and especially that the hole spacing is compatible with your Masthead. Standard Masthead Spinnaker Bails
1/4" Masthead Spinnaker Bails
Masthead Spinnaker Bail: SP-019-2: SS 1/4" bail is welded to a 1 3/4" x 1 1/4" flat plate which attaches to the top of the masthead with (2) 1/4" RH machine screws. Screw hole spacing (to centers) is 1" fore & aft. Unit is 3" long x 1 1/4" wide, bail projects 1 1/4" forward of plate. Mounting requires drilling & tapping (2) 1/4-20 holes, or thru-bolting using 1/4" screws and nuts. As used on Spartan CD-2 Masthead Assembly.
Masthead Spinnaker Bail: K-1422: Special Kenyon Masthead Spinnaker Bail is Designed to fit over a channel-type Masthead 1 3/8" wide. SS 1/4" bail is welded to a 1 3/4" x 1 5/8" flat plate which attaches to the top of the masthead with (2) 3/16" screws. Bail is angled downward and projects 1 1/4" forward of plate. Designed for use with Kenyon 1 3/8" wide, double channel Masthead Assemblies, unit attaches with (2) #10 x 1/2" RH machine screws and locknuts. Mounting may require drilling (2) 3/16" holes.
5/16" Masthead Spinnaker Bails
Masthead Spinnaker Bail: SP-083-1: Heavy 5/16" SS bail is welded to a 2 1/4" x 1 7/8" flat plate which attaches to the top of the masthead with (4) 1/4" RH machine screws. Screw hole spacing (to centers) is 1 1/2" fore and aft x 3/4" wide. Bail is angled downward and projects 1 1/2" forward of plate. Mounting in most Pearson and Spartan applications requires drilling & tapping (4) 1/4-20 holes. As used on Spartan CD-3.5 and CD-4 Masthead Assemblies, and many Pearson Mastheads. Trapezoidal plate measures 2" long x 2 7/8" (maximum) wide. Aft screw holes are on 2" centers, Bail is angled downward and projects 1 3/4" forward of plate. Mounting requires drilling (3) 1/4" holes. Port Offset - Masthead Spinnaker Bail: K-10454P: Port Offset SS 5/16" bail is welded to a Trapezoidal SS plate which bolts to the top of the masthead with (3) 1/4" x 3/4" screws and locknuts. Trapezoidal plate measures 2" long x 2 7/8" (maximum) wide. Aft screw holes are on 2" centers, Offset Bail is angled to Port and downward, and projects 1 1/2" forward of plate. Mounting requires drilling (3) 1/4" holes. As used on *K-11348* Masthead Assembly for Kenyon 4060 and other Mast Sections. As K-10454 (above), but with bail offset to Port side to reduce interference between Spinnaker halyard block and Headstay.
Starboard Offset - Masthead Spinnaker Bail: K-10454S: Starboard Offset SS 5/16" bail is welded to a Trapezoidal SS plate which bolts to the top of the masthead with (3) 1/4" x 3/4" screws and locknuts. Trapezoidal plate measures 2" long x 2 7/8" (maximum) wide. Aft screw holes are on 2" centers, Offset Bail is angled to Starboard and downward, and projects 1 1/2" forward of plate. Mounting requires drilling (3) 1/4" holes. As used on *K-11348* Masthead Assembly for Kenyon 4060 and other Mast Sections. As K-10454 (above), but with bail offset to Starboard side to reduce interference between Spinnaker halyard block and Headstay.

Screw hole spacing (to centers) is 13/16" fore and aft x 1 1/8" wide. Bail is angled downward and projects 1 5/8" forward of plate. Mounting requires drilling (4) 5/16" holes. Masthead Spinnaker Bail: SP-158-2: Heavy 3/8" SS bail is welded to a 3" x 2 1/2" flat plate which bolts to the top of the masthead with (4) 1/4" RH machine screws and locknuts. Screw hole spacing (to centers) is 2" fore and aft x 7/8" across. Bail projects 1 3/4" forward of plate. Mounting requires drilling (4) 1/4" holes. Trapezoidal plate measures 2 1/2" long x 3 7/8" (maximum) wide. Forward screw holes are on 7/8" centers, aft holes are 2 7/8" apart. Bail is angled downward and projects 1 3/4" forward of plate. Masthead Spinnaker Bail: K-11302XLS: Heavy 7/16" SS bail is welded to a flat plate which bolts to the top of the masthead with (4) 5/16" screws and locknuts. Base measures 3 1/4" long x 3" wide. Double Masthead Spinnaker Bails Double Masthead Spinnaker Bails are used primarily in racing applications to allow for attachment of 2 separate Spinnaker Halyard Swivel Blocks (port and starboard) for hoisting 2 Spinnakers independently. In cruising applications, they offer an offset Spinnaker Halyard attachment point less likely to interfere with the furling system Halyard Swivel.
Double Masthead Spinnaker Bail: SP-083-1D: Heavy 5/16" SS bails are welded to a 2 1/4" x 4 1/4" (maximum) wide flat plate which attaches to the top of the masthead with (4) 1/4" RH machine screws. Screw hole spacing (to centers) is 1 1/2" fore and aft x 3/4" wide, the same as *SP-083-1, above, for which it is a drop-in replacement. Bails project 1/2" forward of plate and are 3 1/2" apart at forward edge. Mounting in most Pearson and Spartan applications requires drilling & tapping (4) 1/4-20 holes. Large Double Masthead Spinnaker Bail: K-10435D6: Heavy 3/8" SS bails are welded to a 4 3/4" long x 4 3/4" (maximum) wide x 3/16" flat plate which attaches to the top of the masthead with (6) 5/16" screws and nuts. Large Double Masthead Spinnaker Bail: K-10435D6P: Large Double Masthead Spinnaker Bail is cut from heavy 5/16" (8mm) SS plate and attaches to the top of the masthead with (6) 1/4" (6mm) screws and nuts. Plate is bent downward at 20 degrees with (2) 1" holes for attachment of any Swivel Blocks, 4 3/8" apart. Plate is (maximum) 6" long x 6" wide. Screw holes (in 2 rows, 15/16" apart) are on 15/16" centers. Plate projects 2 1/4" forward of masthead. Mounting requires drilling (6) 1/4" holes. rg
Large Double Masthead Spinnaker Crane Ass'y: Z-1079XA: Large Double Masthead Spinnaker Crane Assembly with SS U-bolts. Y-shaped Aluminum Casting includes 2 SS U-bolts (7" apart), and is designed to bolt to the top of a flat Masthead with (5) 5/16" (8mm) screws and nuts. Requires (minimum) 6 1/2" long x 3 1/2" wide mounting surface. Unit is (maximum) 9" long x 9 5/8" wide x 1 3/16" thick. U-bolts are 3/8" (10mm) diameter and project 1 1/2" (maximum) below cast plate. Isomat Masthead Spinnaker Cranes
NG-1 Masthead Spinnaker Crane: NG1-2: Spinnaker Crane for use only with NG-1 Masthead. NG-1 Mastheads are easily identified by having only 2 sheaves (or provision for only 2 sheaves) on the forward side. Attaches with (2) 1/4" bolts and locknuts, and (2) 6mm (3/16") screws that go into the threaded holes for the masthead Cover Plate screws. SS Plate is (maximum) 3 7/8" long x 4 3/8" wide x 3/16" thick, and projects 2" forward of the masthead. Mounting requires drilling (2) 1/4" holes in the masthead. Unit comes complete with fasteners.
NG-2 Masthead Spinnaker Crane: NG2-2: Spinnaker Crane for use only with NG-2 Masthead. NG-2 Mastheads are easily identified by having 4 sheaves (or provision for 4 sheaves) on the forward side. Attaches with (4) 5/16" (8mm) bolts and locknuts. SS Plate is (maximum) 4" long x 5 3/8" wide x 1/4" thick, and projects 1 3/8" forward of the masthead. Easily positioned on the masthead, mounting requires drilling (4) 5/16" holes in the masthead. Unit comes complete with fasteners.
