Deck Collars - Mast Collars
Deck Collars, or Mast Collars, or Mast Partners, are used on Rigs with keel-stepped Masts to provide a suitable interface where the Mast goes through the Deck. Deck Collars are usually bolted through the Deck, and normally sized by the Mast Section they are designed for, to allow use of Standard Mast Wedges as a cushion between the Mast and its' Deck Collar. Some Deck Collars incorporate a means of attaching Turning Blocks for Halyards and other Control lines. Some Deck Collars incorporate a means of attaching various Tie Rods or Deck Tie-down Turnbuckles, attaching to the Mast or Mast Step, to prevent Deck rise due to Rig Tension. Mast Wedges provide the cushion between the Mast and its' Deck Collar. Mast Boots help prevent water leakage where the Mast goes through the Deck. They fit around the Mast and cover the Deck Collar flange and Mast Wedges. Stainless Steel Hose Clamps for securing Boots to Masts and Deck Collars are available separately. ID - J/34 Special: TP 10566:* Rectangular Aluminum Deck Collar used on Kenyon 4066, Hall HS-166 and similar Mast Sections (+/- 4" wide), fastens to deck with (12) 1/4" FH screws. Base size (maximum) is 13 7/8" x 7 5/8", with flange that extends 1 1/4" below deck, and 1" above. Inside measures 10 3/4" x 4 3/4" wide.
