Kenyon 4873 Cruising Mast Section 4873 Mast Section - Clear Anodized: K-X4873CA-___: 4873 Mast Section - Raw: K-X4873R-___: Kenyon 4873 Section Mast Tube is stocked in a variety of lengths (listed above) fully anodized or raw (mill finish), it can also be cut to shorter lengths. To order, specify length. Sections can also be milled for the sailgate or other components, painted finishes and other lengths are available on special order, Please specify. Kenyon Cruising Sections feature an interchangeable Luff Track system, which covers a channel designed to secure any electrical wiring. Select from a variety of Cruising Section Luff Tracks. This system provides easy access to all electrical wires, keeping them from banging around and isolating them from any internal halyard damage, as well as allowing easy conversion of existing masts to different mainsail slide systems.

Mastheads Listed below are the standard mastheads for the Kenyon 4873 Mast Section. Fractional and tapered masts normally use welded-in mastheads for maximum strength with minimum weight. A variety of Custom Mastheads are available as well, please inquire.
Bolt-in Masthead Assembly for Masthead Rig: K-10594-1: Bolt-in aluminum Masthead Assembly for untapered 4873 mast section incorporates (4) 3 3/4" dia. aluminum sheaves, *K-10556, for internal or external wire or rope halyards. Includes 1/2" pins for attachment of SS toggles for headstay and backstay (order separately), and 1/4" shackle for topping lift attachment. Masthead fits in 4 1/2" x 2 1/4" wide slot cut into fore and aft sides of the mast tube. Use with Masthead Cap K-11259* (order separately). Pre-drilled for attachment of Spinnaker Halyard Bail *K-10593* (order separately). Channel is 13" long, and attaches to the mast with (2) 3/8" bolts.
	Masthead Toggle w/ 7/16" Pin: K-10744: SS Toggle Assembly for *K-10594* Mastheads includes 7/16" lower pin, and is designed to sit on 1/2" upper pin. Toggle measures 1 3/4" wide x 2" between pin centers, and will accommodate eyes up to 9/16" thick.

	3 3/4" OD Aluminum Sheave: K-10556: Lightweight cast anodized aluminum sheave with integral bronze bushing is 3 3/4" OD x 3/4" wide x 1/2" ID. With wire/rope V-groove for up to 5/8" line and 1/4" wire, unit features recessed walls to minimize weight. As used in a variety of Mastheads.
	Masthead Spinnaker Bail: K-10593: Heavy 5/16" SS bail is welded to a flat plate which bolts to the top of the masthead with (4) 5/16" x 3/4" screws and locknuts. Plate measures 2 1/4" square. Screw hole spacing (to centers) is 13/16" fore and aft x 1 1/8" wide. Bail is angled downward and projects 1 5/8" forward of plate. Mounting requires drilling (4) 5/16" holes. 	Mast Head Cap for 4873 Mast: K-11259: Mast Head Cap for 4873 fastens to top of *K-10594-1* masthead to seal mast end, and provide a flat mounting surface. Cap Measures 7 5/16" x 4 13/16" wide. Aluminum with black epoxy finish.
Heavy Duty Masthead Assembly for Masthead Rig: K-10594: Weld-in aluminum Masthead Assembly for untapered 4873 mast section incorporates (4) 3 3/4" dia. aluminum sheaves, *K-10556, for internal or external wire or rope halyards. Includes 1/2" pins for attachment of SS toggles for headstay and backstay (order separately), and 1/4" shackle for topping lift attachment. Masthead features 2 extended Spinnaker Cranes, pre-drilled for attachment of Spinnaker Halyard Bail K-10593* (order separately).

Trisect Masthead Assembly for 4873 Tapered Mast: K-11511: Trisect Triple channel Masthead Assembly is welded in 4873 Tapered mast section and incorporates (4) 2 1/2" aluminum sheaves, for internal wire or rope halyards. Dedicated main and jib halyards are on centerline, with 2 wing halyards offset P and S. Strong, low-windage design features lightening holes for additional weight savings. Includes 1/2" pins for attachment of Backstay and for Headstay Toggle, *K-11537, and 5/16" topping lift pin. Top plate is 11 5/8" long, and Backstay Crane extends 7" beyond the aft face of the mast. 			Masthead Chafe Cage for 4873 Trisect Head: K-11320: Stainless Steel welded assembly encloses centerline halyard and protects wing halyards from the headstay attachment point. Attaches with (3) #10 screws. As used on Ericson 35.
			Masthead Toggle for Trisect Head w/ 1/2" Pin: K-11537: Heavy SS Eye/Jaw Toggle Assembly for Trisect Masthead includes 1/2" lower pin, and is designed to sit on 1/2" upper pin. Toggle is formed from 3/16" stock, and measures 1/2" wide (at top) x 1 1/4" wide (at bottom) x 2 3/4" between pin centers. Will accommodate eyes up to 1/2" thick.
			Sheave Axle Pin w/ Tab: K-10680: SS Masthead Axle/Sheave Pin has thin stem welded to tab which attaches to mast with (1) #10 screw. Pin measures 3/8" x 3" long, for wing halyard sheaves in 4873 Trisect Masthead Assembly, *K-11511.*

Fractional Masthead Assembly for 4873 Tapered Mast: K-11097A: Weld-in Fractional Masthead Assembly for tapered 4873 mast section incorporates (1) 3 3/4" diameter aluminum sheave, K-10556, for internal Main halyard. Masthead features extended Backstay Crane with lightening holes, and a 7/16" pin for attachment of Backstay. Jumper Strut Bracket for 4873 Mast: K-11131: SS formed Bracket has welded studs for SP-2.2 Jumper Strut Assembly. Attaches to mast with (9) 3/16" (#10) fasteners. As used on J/36.
*Fractional Jib Box Ass'y w/ 3 Sheaves for 4873 Mast: K-11124:* Triple channel Jib Box Assembly is welded in 4873 mast section and incorporates (3) 3 1/2" aluminum sheaves, K-198-14AB8, for internal wire or rope halyards. Jib halyard is on centerline, with 2 wing halyards offset P and S. Strong, low-windage design features lightening holes for additional weight savings. Spreaders The Kenyon 4873 mast section is normally used with Kenyon SP-3, and SP-4 airfoil spreaders. A variety of Spreader Brackets, welded Spreader Bases, and Spreader Bars are available. For Spreader details, or to order replacement Spreaders, see Kenyon Spreader Sections.

Formed plate has welded stud to fit Kenyon SP-4 Spreader. This strong fitting reduces windage to a minimum. Plate is 1/8" thick and measures 4" high x 5 3/4" long to spread loading over a larger area. Attaches to the mast with (10) 1/4" fasteners. For spreaders swept 16.5 degrees aft. As used on J/36.
*Round Spreader Bracket - Port: K-1567-3P:* *Round Spreader Bracket - Starboard: K-1567-3S:* SS welded Spreader Bracket Assembly for 4873 mast section. Formed plate has welded socket to fit Kenyon 1 11/16" OD (K-2130) Round Spreader. Design allows for recessed attachment of lower shroud tang. Plate is 3/32" thick and measures 3" high x 4 1/4" long to spread loading over a larger area. Attaches to the mast with (6) 3/16" (#10) screws or rivets and a 5/8" bolt, or a 3/8" bolt and a K-9631 Flange Bushing to reduce weight, or when used with K-1492, K-1493, or K-1494 Tang Assemblies. Used for rigs with in-line spreaders, base has 5-degree vertical lift. Specify port or starboard. As used on Islander 30, Pearson 303, and others. K-11309
*4873 Weld-on Spreader Bracket Ass'y: K-4873S-0K:* Aluminum weld-on Spreader Bracket Assembly for 4873 mast section. Set of 2 aluminum plates is contoured to fit curvature of Kenyon 4873 Mast Section, and designed to be welded to Port or Starboard side. Normally plates are welded at a 5-7 degree angle up, with 1/2" between them to accommodate spreaders with an inboard end of 3/8" thick plate. Upper bracket plate (without holes) is drilled after welding, using Lower plate (with holes) as a drill guide, assuring accurate alignment regardless of angle. Lower plate has (2) 3/8" holes on 3 1/2" centers for use with standard SP-4 Spreader Inboard Ends, K-11480-4 (0 degree aft) and K-11191 (10 degrees aft). Plates have uncoated Aluminum finish for ease of welding, and are notched on the mast centerline for ease of placement. One (1) set is required for each side of mast. * BF-732

Spreader Bars For High Performance applications designers frequently specify Kenyon thru-bar spreader systems. These systems have been proven through many years of top-level racing, and are now the norm on most racing yachts. Standard spreader bars for the 4873 section are listed below. Other angles are available on a special order basis.
Spreader Bar for SP-4 Spreader - 0 degree aft: K-11521: This Stainless Steel Bar assembly is used with Kenyon SP-4 Spreaders for rigs with in-line spreaders. Installed through a slot in the mast, the bar is held in place with roll pins (included) on each side. Holes for spreader attachment and roll pins. Has 5-degree vertical angle.

Winch Pad for 4873: K-10645: Black Urethane Winch Pad is 4 13/16" dia., and molded to fit on centerline of 4873 section. Pad insulates winch from mast wall and properly seats it for mounting. Pad is attached to mast with 1 screw, holes for screws to mount winch are then drilled through pad and tapped in mast wall.
*Forward Offset Winch Pad for 4873: K-11101:* Black Urethane Winch Pad is 4 13/16" dia., and molded to fit 2" forward of centerline of 4873 section. Used primarily for staysail and spinnaker halyard winches. Pad insulates winch from mast wall and properly seats it for mounting. Pad is attached to mast with 1 screw, holes for screws to mount winch are then drilled through pad and tapped in mast wall.
7/8" Sail Slide Stop: K-10424L: SS Spring Pin Sail Slide Stop fits all mast sections with track for 7/8" or 15/16" internal flat slides. Superior design allows Slide Stop to remain captive in mast track. Gate cutout (1 3/4" high) is made just 1" above SS Gooseneck bracket. Spring pin fits in 1/4" hole drilled at top of cutout, and slides down into recess beneath Gooseneck Bracket when Spring pin is pulled. This design allows sail slides to come as close as possible to the gooseneck while remaining in track, and eliminates problems associated with slides snagging while going past a normal sail gate. Plate is 2 1/2" long with a 1/4" spring pin. For use with *K-73540* flat internal luff track.

Gooseneck Bracket: K-11039: Designed for use with the *K-10345* Gooseneck Toggle/Tack Assembly for E-Section and larger Booms, this SS welded Bracket takes a 3/8" Vertical pin, CP6-76K, and has clearance for a 1 1/2" Toggle. Fastens to 4873 Mast Section with (8) 1/4" (6mm) fasteners. Base is 5" vertical x approximately 4" wide. Also used as a Vang Bracket with addition of appropriate Vang Toggle, below.
Gooseneck Bracket w/ Bail: K-11119: As *K-11039* (above), but this SS welded bracket for 4873 mast section also has welded 5/16" bail for mainsheet turning block. Takes a 3/8" vertical pin and has clearance for a 1 1/2" toggle. Base is 5" vertical x approximately. 4" wide, and attaches to the mast with (8) 1/4" fasteners. Also used as a Vang Bracket with addition of appropriate Vang Toggle, below.
			Gooseneck Clevis Pin - 3/8": CP6-76K: Vertical Clevis Pin for use with *K-11039, or K-11119* Gooseneck/Vang Bracket. SS pin is 3/8" dia. with 2 3/8" grip length.
			Gooseneck Toggle/Tack w/ Reef Hooks: K-10345A: Used with *K-11039, or K-11119* Gooseneck Brackets, this combination Toggle/Tack/Reef Hook Assembly features 3 tack positions and includes 3/8" tack fastpin, K-10557. *Takes 3/8" vertical and* horizontal pins.** Two reef hooks allow for ease of reefing from either side of the boom. Toggle portion is 1 1/2" high x 7/8" wide with 1" between pin centers. Unit (excluding Reef Hooks) is 4" high x 7/8" wide x 2 1/4" long. Attaches directly to any of the Kenyon SS Gooseneck Brackets designed for a 1 1/2" Toggle with 3/8" vertical pin. Fits E section, 3550, and 3756 standard boom goosenecks.
			Tack Fastpin for 1 1/2" Toggle: K-10557: SS Fastpin is 3/8" dia. x 1" long. Used in all K-10345 1 1/2" Toggle/Tack/Reef Hook Assemblies.
Gooseneck Slide & Toggle/Tack/Reef Hook Ass'y for 15/16" Internal Flat Track: K-GSI-15AD:
Aluminum Gooseneck Slide with Toggle/Tack/Reef Hook Assembly fits Boom Goosenecks that take a 1" wide Toggle with a 1/2" horizontal Pin. Slide fits integral Track in Kenyon and most other Mast Sections with a 15/16" or 7/8" Internal Flat Track. Gooseneck Slide is 5 7/8" high x 7/8" (.865") wide, uses a 1/2" vertical pin and features 1/2" hole for downhaul line or shackle. Toggle is 15/16" wide @ 1/2" Horizontal pin hole. MU

			Long Aluminum Gooseneck Toggle w/ Recess - 2 1/4" High: RR 45-148M:
		Aluminum Gooseneck Toggle is 2 1/4" high and accommodates *1/2" vertical and* horizontal pins. Anodized Toggle is 2 1/4" high x 1 1/4" wide (15/16" wide @ Horizontal pin hole) x 4" (maximum) long, pin holes are on 2 1/2" centers. Toggle features 2nd 1/2" vertical hole (1 5/8" aft) with milled Recess for non-pivoting attachment of Tack/Reef Hook assembly, PP 54-22S.** Toggle fits a variety of Mast Brackets and Gooseneck Slides designed for a 2 1/4" Toggle with a 1/2" vertical pin. Replaces earlier Cast version.

Vang Bracket: K-11039: This SS welded unit is suitable for use as a Vang or Gooseneck Bracket. Bracket uses a 3/8" vertical pin, CP6-76K, below, and has clearance for a 1 1/2" toggle. Base is 5" vertical x approximately 4" wide, and attaches to 4873 Mast Section with (8) 1/4" (6mm) fasteners. Use with any Vang Toggle, listed below.
			Gooseneck Clevis Pin - 3/8": CP6-76K: Vertical Clevis Pin for use with *K-11039, or K-11119* Gooseneck/Vang Bracket. SS pin is 3/8" dia. with 2 3/8" grip length.
			Vang Toggle: K-10963: Used with the K-11039, or *K-11119* Gooseneck Brackets, this SS toggle results in a fully pivoting vang bracket to minimize working stresses. Large 3/4" horizontal hole allows for attachment of any shackle or block.
			*Vang Toggle w/ 14mm Pin hole: K-10963-2:* Welded SS Vang Toggle for use with any Kenyon Gooseneck Bracket with a 3/8" Pin. SS tube is 1 1/2" long with Bronze bushed hole for 3/8" Vertical Pin. Welded SS Tab is 5mm (3/16") thick and projects 2 3/8" (60mm) out from tube. Tab has 14mm (9/16") hole for attachment of Vang and 8mm (5/16") hole for attachment of Vang Tackle. 			*Vang Toggle for Hard Vang, 14mm Pin: K-11788:* Used with the *K-11039, or K-11119* and other Kenyon Gooseneck Brackets with a 3/8" Pin, this SS toggle has (1) 9/16" (14mm) hole for Vang attachment and (3) 5/16" (8mm) holes for blocks. As used with Sparcraft Pneuvang and others.
Vang Bracket, non-pivoting: K-90230: Formed base plate has welded vertical triangle (non-pivoting) with 3/4" diameter hole for attachment of vang tackle block. Attaches to 4873 mast with (8) 1/4" fasteners.
Vang Toggle for Rigid Vang – Special: A variety of semi-custom Toggles, or Bracket/Toggle combinations are available to fit rigid (or solid) vangs produced by a number of manufacturers. Please specify manufacturer, model and Pin size.

Halyard Turning Block Assembly: K-10865: Mast mounted Halyard Turning Block is attached to Mast at Deck level to allow halyards to be led aft. Swiveling Halyard Turning Block adjusts to any angle and features 2" Aluminum V-groove Sheave, K-10861-B5, for use with wire or rope Halyards up to 7/16" diameter. Investment Cast Almag Block attaches to mast with (4) 1/4" FH screws or rivets. Base is 4 1/16" high x 1 7/8" wide. As used on J/36, and others.

Low-Profile Deck Collar Assembly for 4873 Mast: K-10945: Low-profile 4873 Deck Collar Assembly, for keel stepped masts. Deck Collar Rings are bolted together (with Deck in between), using (8) 5/16" bolts and nuts. Mast Support Tabs bolt through Collar Rings, 3/8" bolt is later installed through Mast and Support Tabs preventing the deck from rising under rigging loads. Base size is 10 3/8" x 7 3/4" x 3/4" high. Deck Collar Rings and Mast Support Tabs are cast in 356 Aluminum with black epoxy finish. Kit includes (2) K-10949 Low-profile 4873 Deck Collar Rings, *K-10770* Urethane Mast Collar, (2) K-10931 Mast Support Tabs, and (1) 3/8" x 6 1/2" bolt with locknut.

			Mast Support Tab for Low-Profile Collar: K-10931: Support Tab fastens through deck collars with (2) 5/16" bolts, and through mast with 3/8" thru-bolt. Cast in 356 Aluminum with black epoxy finish.
Deck Tie-Down Bracket: PP M2259: Deck Tie-Down Bracket is attached to the mast, for use with a tie rod to hold the deck in place under rigged loads. Black-coated cast aluminum Bracket has curved mounting base to suit a wide variety of mast sections. Mounting base is 4" long x 2" wide, original unit was attached to the mast with (2) 5/16" screws on 2 1/2" vertical centers. New, improved version has same hole spacing as original, but can be attached to the mast with up to (4) 5/16" screws. Bracket projects 2" from mast surface and has a hole for a 3/8" tie rod 1 5/16" from mast. As used on a variety of Pearson Yachts, including Pearson 30, 303 and Pearson 36-2 (NG-70). K-52259

Electrical Access Plate: RR 72-99: This 4 1/2" x 2" SS plate is designed to cover a 3" x 1 1/4" vertical slot in the side of the mast, just above the top of the mast step. Attaches with (4) 1/4-20 RH machine screws (included) and saves much in frustration and money by allowing access to the electrical plugs above the mast step without having to unstep the mast.

4873 Mast Step: K-10942: Mast Step for Kenyon 4873 fastens to deck or keelson with (4) 3/8" bolts in internal adjustment slots to allow for precise positioning. Also features rectangular slot (2" x 1") for use with optional Base Plate with Tenon, K-10442, below. Unit is (maximum) 7 1/2" long x 4 7/8" wide. Cast in 356 Aluminum with black epoxy finish.
			*Mast Step Base Plate w/ Tenon: K-10442:* Mast Step Base Plate has projecting Tenon designed to mate with K-10942 Mast Step, above. Fastens to deck or keelson with (4) 1/4" FH screws in slots to allow 1" adjustment. Allows the K-10942 Mast Step to be attached to the Mast, keeping the end closed. Unit is 8 3/8" long x 5 1/2" wide x 3/8" thick, Tenon is 2" long x 1" wide x 1" high. Cast in 356 Aluminum with black epoxy finish.

4873 Keel-Mount Mast Step: K-11306PF: Keel-Mount Mast Step Assembly for use with external adjustment screws allows for precise positioning without un-stepping the mast. Welded, anodized aluminum base plate is 1/4" thick, and measures 12" long x 6" wide. Fastens to keelson with (4) 1/2" bolts or screws in external adjustment slots that allow for 2" adjustment. Open-ended slots are on 3 1/2" (athwartships) centers. As used on Pearson 303.
Mast Step Base Plate Adapter: K-11305: Mast Step Base Plate Adapter converts standard mast step for use with external adjustment screws, on keel-stepped rigs. Fastens with (4) 3/8" FH screws in internal adjustment slots of 4873 mast step, K-10942. Allows for precise positioning without un-stepping the mast. Anodized aluminum plate is 1/4" thick, and measures 11" long x 7" wide. Fastens to keelson with (4) 3/8" bolts in Slots that allow for 2" adjustment. Slot centers are 5 1/2" athwartships, and 7 1/2" fore & aft. As used on early Pearson 303.
