Isomat Spinnaker Cars

Most Isomat Mast Sections feature an integral Spinnaker Track (approximately 3 1/8" wide) extruded into the forward side. Isomat makes 2 different kinds of Spinnaker Cars to fit this track. Cars slide freely and are positioned on the track with the use of a line control system. Both Cars are aluminum and slide on plastic liners, which fit all* of the mast sections of this type.* Cars include SS shackle (towing bail) on each end for attachment of control lines. Most Masts will have one side of this track cut out (approximately 5" long) near the deck, to allow for mounting the car without unsteping the mast. If this cutout is not there you will have to cut it, or unstep the mast to install these Spinnaker Cars. * The Isomat NG-105 Mast Section is the largest of this type and has maximum outside dimensions of 11" x 7 3/8" (283mm x 182mm). Cars to fit some NG-105 sections require special liners (NGA-52-105). As the 2 different NG-105 Mast Sections are difficult to distinguish in the field, Orders for Spinnaker Cars for NG-105 Mast Sections are shipped with both sets of liners, credit will be issued for one set of liners upon return. To order a Spinnaker Car to fit an NG-105 Mast Section add –105 to the part number.

Isomat Spinnaker-Ring Car: NGA-50:
Heavy-duty Ring Car for use with spinnaker poles having standard piston or trigger, plunger ends. Aluminum Car has heavy 10mm SS ring with 1 1/2" ID cast right into it. Car length is 5 1/2" (without shackles). Includes towing shackles and liners to fit all* Isomat NG Mast Sections. * See NG-105 notes, above. Please note that Ring Cars are not designed for, or recommended for vertical pole stowage applications.

Spinnaker-Toggle Car features 10mm (3/8") vertical pin with clearance for Toggles up to 1 9/16" high. Car accommodates a variety of toggles from others, for use with various pin and bell-type inboard pole ends. Car length is 5 1/2" (without shackles). Isomat Spinnaker Car w/ FC Toggle: NGA-51-FC:
Spinnaker Car is as NGA-51, above, but incorporates heavy-duty FC-type SS toggle on a 1/2" vertical bolt for use with larger piston and trigger pole ends. The toggle is designed to reduce the undesirable twisting of the pole end that is unavoidable with ring cars, and features a delrin bushing on the cross pin to cushion the pole end and reduce noise. Car length is 5 1/2" (without shackles). Includes towing shackles and liners to fit all* Isomat NG Mast Sections. * See NG-105 notes, above.

 

NGA-51-FC
Isomat Spinnaker Car w/ TS Pin: NGA-51-TS:
Spinnaker Car is as NGA-51, above, but incorporates a Forespar TS-type pin with a heavy-duty SS toggle on a 1/2" vertical bolt. TS Pin (1" OD x 3 5/8" long) fits all Forespar TS type Spinnaker Pole ends. Car length is 5 1/2" (without shackles). Includes towing shackles and liners to fit all* Isomat NG Mast Sections. * See NG-105 notes, above.

Isomat Spinnaker Car w/ Metric Small Bell Fitting: NGA-51-BS:
Spinnaker Car is as NGA-51, above, but incorporates a Small Francespar or Barbarossa Bell-type fitting with toggle. For use with spinnaker poles using appropriate Francespar or Barbarossa inboard ends. Car includes Small Francespar or Barbarossa Bell-type fitting, which are interchangeable. Please note that car must be mounted as pictured, with the Bell Trigger up. Otherwise Trigger will hit on Car and end will release before pole is parallel to mast. Bell fitting is 51mm (2") ID, and approximately 2 9/16" (66mm) OD. Car length is 5 1/2" (without shackles). Includes towing shackles and liners to fit all* Isomat NG Mast Sections. * See NG-105 notes, above.

Spinnaker Car is as NGA-51, above, but incorporates a Large Francespar or Barbarossa Bell-type fitting with toggle. For use with spinnaker poles using appropriate Francespar or Barbarossa inboard ends. Car includes Large Francespar or Barbarossa Bell-type fitting, which are interchangeable. Please note that car must be mounted as pictured, with the Bell Trigger up. Otherwise Trigger will hit on Car and end will release before pole is parallel to mast. Bell fitting is 66mm (2 9/16") ID, and approximately 3 1/4" (82mm) OD. Car length is 5 1/2" (without shackles). Spinnaker Car Line Control Kits
All Isomat Spinnaker Cars require a Line Control system to hold the Car in position. A variety of Spinnaker Car Line Control Kits are listed below.
 
Spinnaker Car Line Control Kit - External: NGA-55E:
Spinnaker Car Line Control Kit for external control line is rigged with one cheekblock near the base of the mast, and one above the maximum desired car height. Single control line is attached to the shackle on the upper end of the car, runs through the upper cheekblock, down past 2 cleats (facing in opposite directions), through the lower cheekblock, and is tied off to the shackle on the bottom of the car. Kit includes 2 cheek blocks, 2 clam cleats, all fasteners, and a 3/8" Samson control line with an eye splice in one end, long enough to allow up to 14 feet of Car travel. Mounting requires drilling and tapping 12 holes.

 

 NGA-55E
Spinnaker Car Line Control Kit - Internal: NGA-56I:
Spinnaker Car Line Control Kit for internal control line is rigged with one exit block on the forward centerline near the base of the mast, and one above the maximum desired car height. Single control line is attached to the shackle on the upper end of the car, runs through the upper exit block, down inside the mast, through the lower exit block, and is tied off to the shackle on the bottom of the car. Two clam cleats mount above the lower exit block (facing in opposite directions) to lock car in position. Kit includes 2 exit blocks, 2 clam cleats, all fasteners, and a 3/8" Samson control line with an eye splice in one end, long enough to allow up to 14 feet of Car travel. Mounting requires cutting 2 slots for exit blocks, and drilling and tapping 8 holes. 		NGA-56I
