Double Chainplates


Double Chainplates
Double Chainplates are designed for attachment of two (2) separate shrouds at the same location, usually an upper and a lower shroud. They are normally bolted to a bulkhead and pass directly through the deck.

Double Chainplates are listed below by the size of the Pin they are attached to the rigging with. If you require Double Chainplates not listed here, we stock some others and are able to fabricate a variety of Custom ones, please forward a sketch with complete measurements and details for a quote.


Double Chainplates for 1/4" Pins
Angled Double Chainplate for (2) 1/4" Pins: CP 84-76DX:
Double Chainplate with (2) 1/4" holes for Shroud attachment. Angled Chainplate has upper 2" bent at 10 degrees, and is attached to boat with (3) 1/4" bolts on 2 1/4" centers. Angled Stainless Steel Double Chainplate is 8 1/2" long x 1 1/2" wide x 1/8" thick.

 


Double Chainplates for 5/16" Pins
Double Chainplate for (2) 5/16" Pins: CP 84-77DSX:
Double Chainplate with (2) 5/16" holes for Shroud attachment. Flat Chainplate is attached to boat with (4) 3/8" bolts on 2 1/2" centers. Flat Stainless Steel Double Chainplate is 13" long x 2" wide x 1/8" thick. As used on Cal 24-3 and others.
 

 

Double Chainplate for (2) 5/16" Pins: CP 84-77D-J:
Double Chainplate with (2) 5/16" holes for Shroud attachment. Flat Chainplate is attached to boat with (5) 1/4" bolts. Flat Stainless Steel Double Chainplate is 10" long x 2" wide x 3/16" thick. As used on J/22, J/24, and others.

 


Double Chainplates for 3/8" Pins
Double Chainplate - Complete Set for (2) 3/8" Pins: CP 84-272-1K2:
Double Chainplate Set allows for attachment of (2) 3/8" Pins for Shrouds on each side of the boat. Chainplate Set is bolted through Bulkhead belowdecks with Backing Plate on other side of Bulkhead, using (8) 5/16" (8mm) bolts and locknuts, Cover Plate is attached to Deck. Stainless Steel Chainplate Set includes (2) Chainplates (CP 84-272-1), (2) Backing Plates (CP 84-272-1B), and (2) Cover Plates (CP 84-272-1CP). Flat Chainplate is 9" long x 2 1/2" wide x 3/16" thick. As used on O'Day 272. Components (below) are available separately.

 

 

 

Double Chainplate for (2) 3/8" Pins: CP 84-272-1:
Double Chainplate has (2) 3/8" holes for attachment of Shrouds. SS Chainplate is normally bolted through Bulkhead belowdecks with Backing Plate (CP 84-272-1B) on other side of Bulkhead, and Cover Plate (CP 84-272-1CP) on deck. Chainplate is 9" long x 2 1/2" wide x 3/16" thick.

 

 

 

Double Chainplate Backing Plate: CP 84-272-1B:
Backing Plate for CP 84-272-1, above. SS Backing Plate is 6" long x 2 1/2" wide x 1/8" thick, with (6) 5/16" holes for attachment. As used on O'Day 272.

 

 

 

Double Chainplate Cover Plate: CP 84-272-1CP:
Cover Plate for CP 84-272-1, above. SS Cover Plate has slot for Chainplate (7/32" x 2 5/8"), and is 3 1/2" long x 1 1/2" wide x 3/32" thick, with (4) #10 (3/16") holes for attachment to deck. As used on O'Day 272.

 


Double Chainplates for 7/16" Pins
Aluminum Double Chainplate for 3/8" & 7/16" Pins: CP 84-S30AD-67:
Lightweight Aluminum Chainplate with (1) 3/8" and (1) 7/16" hole for Shroud attachment. Chainplate is bolted through Bulkhead belowdecks with (6) 3/8" bolts in a staggered pattern. Anodized Aluminum Chainplate is 14 1/2" long x 2" wide x 3/8" thick. As used by Seidelman.
Note: Although originally used on production Sailboats and strong enough for the loads involved, Aluminum Chainplates are not recommended for vessels anticipating continued salt water usage, as the low-maintenance corrosion potential is great.

 

Aluminum Double Chainplate for (2) 7/16" Pins: CP 84-S30AD-77:
Lightweight Aluminum Chainplate with (2) 7/16" holes for Shroud attachment. Chainplate is bolted through Bulkhead belowdecks with (6) 3/8" bolts in a staggered pattern. Anodized Aluminum Chainplate is 14 1/2" long x 2" wide x 3/8" thick. As used by Seidelman.

Heavy Duty Double Chainplate for (2) 1/2" Pins: CP 84-90DHL22:
Heavy Duty Stainless Steel Chainplate with (2) 1/2" holes for attachment of Shrouds. Chainplate is bolted through Bulkhead belowdecks with (10) 1/2" bolts in a staggered pattern. Highly polished Flat SS Chainplate is 22 1/2" long x 2 1/2" wide x 3/8" thick. As used on Sabre 36.
